A little about our journey

After successfully losing nearly 300 pounds as a couple, Michael and Deborah started realizing that to achieve long-lasting, positive health outcomes, that fitness had to be a part of their lives.  But, they knew that it was really hard to incorporate fitness into a sedentary lifestyle.  So, they set out on a journey to make this a part of their everyday lives and to encourage others to do the same.  The accountability gained on both sides would be win-win.

The idea was to meet anyone at any place in their life and help them start a consistent fitness journey of their own.  A journey that takes them down the path they want to go, not a path that a certain plan wants them to go.

What they learned along the way...it's not easy.  Change is hard.  But, like the top of this page says, "No Challenge, No Change".

Michael and Deborah are subject to lack of motivation too, it's normal.  Burnout.  All of it.  Balance is what helps you stay in the game.  When the pendulum starts swinging too far one way, it'll most likely topple over.  They learn something new everyday and can't wait to keep passing the positivity and goodness along to others.

About Michael

I’ve always been aware that I had a weight problem, my classmates made me especially aware, but I had never truly figured out how to get control of it.  So, my weight has always had control over me.  Looking back at my life, I had never done anything to help control my weight that proved to myself that I could actually do anything different.

I didn't know what I didn't know.

That I could actually achieve what I had always dreamed of achieving.  I knew that I had to do something radical or the road on my journey would be bumpy.  I could see how my father struggled later in life, mainly due to weight issues that were never resolved, I could see myself starting to, ever so slowly, have the same issues but much earlier in life than he did.

 That scared me into action.

So, after successfully losing 168 pounds and actually achieving my goal weight for the first time in my life I feel like I'm finally on my way.  In search of lasting health, I've discovered that I love running.  With several 5K's under my belt and successfully completing two half marathons in 2021, my sights are set on another marathon in late-2022 and then a full in 2023.  There is nothing like training for many months and then crossing that finish line hearing your family, friends and perfect strangers cheering for you.

I'm also a certified Master Coach in habit-making, behavior change and nutrition awesomeness.  I'm also working hard to fulfill the requirements to capture the board certification with the National Board of Health & Wellness Coaches.  After receiving my Level Two Precision Nutrition Coaching certification, I was hooked and can't wait to help others along their own ever-winding health journey.
